Moving Forward in Service to America. Hope for the Future through Nurturing Good Works in the Community. DAR members come from diverse backgrounds and hold a variety of interests. Our common bond is a lineal descent from Patriots of the American Revolution. Any woman over 18, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove this lineage is eligible to join. DAR members volunteer more than 250,000 hours annually in support of veterans, active duty military and their families and communitie.
The DAR was founded in 1890 and incorporated by an Act of Congress in 1896. Has many DAR chapters in the Society from its eastern plains, to the Four Corners region, to the western plateaus and mesas, to our northern rivers, and points in between.
